1. A Couple Of Sorts
Synopsis: It's spring. Mort has arranged a picnic with a couple of
'sorts', but Jack is convinced he is being invited to attend a rural
orgy. Judging by the blast he gets from the sister of one of the 'sorts'
before they set out, he is not far wrong.
Notes: Carmen Duncan does not appear in this episode.
2. Pith And Kin
Synopsis: Jack is one man who consistently blunts the arrows of
temptation - until he meets the sugar-coated shafts delivered by his third
cousin April. Meanwhile, Auntie Vi goes to work on Mort.
3. In For A Duck
Synopsis: When bank manager Mollison calls for music practice and
Mort romances Rosie in the kitchen, the result is a collision of immovable
objects - the Hamlin brothers. And the main trouble with the bathtub is
that Rosie ends up in it.
4. A Piece Of Cake
Synopsis: Jack can bake a magic, melting sponge cake - and he has
beaten Ada Withers eight times in a row at the Annual District Bake-off,
but this year Mort and Rosie increase the odds in Ada's favour.
5. The Big Squeeze
Synopsis: Mr. Ferris of Factormat arrives at the Hamlin orchard to
plan for a juice extraction and deep-freeze plant. But with partners who
share no more than dreams and a double mortgage, it proves a dangerous

Synopsis: The nostalgic charm of the old swimming hole is tempered
by the realities provided by old Charlie, the down-to-earth drainage
man. Mort discovers that sentiment yields to sediment.
7. The Family Way
Synopsis: Jack agrees to accommodate Auntie Vi for a month in
exchange for the use of Ginger, the family horse. When Auntie Vi arranges a luncheon for the Hamlin
brothers, it turns out to be the forerunner of a fearful family mix-up.
8. Brother's Keeper
Synopsis: Ada Withers storms into the Hamlin home looking, as
usual, for Rosie, and it signals the beginning of a reckless race along
the road that leads to Joe's Milk Bar. Mort finds the path of love a
rocky one when Rosie Withers, in front of witnesses, threatens to stop
seeing him. Mort then finds her sipping milk shakes with another man.
9. Major Crisis
Synopsis: After 20 years, the Hamlin family is once again on
speaking terms with their wealthy neighbour, Major Morby. But the Major,
true to form, is up to his old tricks.
10. Money Matters
Synopsis: Mort devises a plan so that he and Jack can have some
spending money. He arranges with Fred to fish the family truck out of the
dam. Mort's plan is to sell the truck and use the proceeds for a spending
spree at Russell's store.
11. Ladies Night
Synopsis: Mort and Jack dismiss their prospects of
marriage. Immediately, they run full-tilt into a pair of well-intentioned
ladies whose plans are strictly honourable.
12. Past History
Synopsis: The Wyvern Creek Historical Society shows more than usual
interest in Jack’s upstairs junk room. The long locked secrets of the Junk
Room yield a bonus of trouble and conspiracy.
13. The Big Wheel
Synopsis: The search for oil on the Hamlin property brings in a
gusher of trouble.
